Rise and Shine Women Empowerment Center in collaboration with USAID/ESP has successfully conducted its inception workshop of a three-month project titled “Empowerment through Beauty” in Mekelle and Axum.
The project aims to transform Beauty Salons into safe and localized spaces for women to discuss their rights, exchange ideas, share information, strengthen their network and guide those who seek GBV service.
This will be done through tailor-made trainings on basic gender concepts, communication skills, Trauma Informed care, psychosocial support and psychological first aid. In addition to this, Service mapping of MHPSS and GBV service will be undertaken in both cities and a contextualized tool-kit will be developed along with referral pathway leaflets.
