Rise and Shine Women Empowerment Center
Rise and Shine Women Empowerment Center is a board-led local non-governmental organization in the Tigray region of Ethiopia founded by two visionary women in May, 2023 to promote gender equality and enhance the economic, social, political and legal empowerment of women and girls. It advocates and works towards addressing gender-based violence and challenging gender stereotypes by engaging men and boys.

Our Objectives
- Enhance young and adult women’s social, economic and political participation through awareness raising, advocacy, capacity building and skills trainings
- Enhance the economic status of Young and Adult women
- Advance adolescent girls’, young and adult women’s knowledge, attitude, skill and information to help them analyze and act on their social, economic, political setting.
- Establish safe spaces/clubs on schools to help adolescent girls’ build solidarity, mentorship, connect and support each other.
- Improve Health, Hygiene and sanitation, and nutrition of children, adolescent, young and adult women and girls.
- Advance gender equality, equity and the empowerment of women and girls.
- Ensure the alleviation of gender based violence and harmful cultural practices against children, girls and women.
- Ensure women’s participation in the peace process.
